Aaand we’re back!

Everything is moved in, internet is working, hooray! I just wish Dell would ship my new laptop sometime soon so I don’t have to use this ghetto piece of crap.

Stay tuned, more blog posts are on the way.

That’s it, folks!

I’m outta here!

Be back in a few days, hopefully, after the dust settles and things get unpacked. [Keeps fingers crossed that internet will work.]

Bye bye PA, hello MA!

Craziness.

Well, the sewing machine is back and in working order. Turns out a screw was loose in the inside mechanism of the fly wheel, and thus my problem when sewing. Of course, the ding dong who “fixed” my machine earlier this week should have realized this when he tried out my foot pedal to see if it worked, but I rest my case…

I’m moving in four days! Ahh! There’s so much to do before I pack up the car and head off, and I’ve been temping this week as well. So there’s even less time than planned, and most of my packing will be done this Saturday and Sunday. Needless to say, posting will be few and far between in the coming days until I get my feet on the ground and my stuff unpacked (and it also depends on the Comcast guy hooking up my internet!).

But oh, I have grand plans for my new sewing space….

Broken Machine = No Sewing

Well, my machine that I took in over a week ago still isn’t fixed. I picked it up today and took it home, after paying for it mind you, and the mechanic still didn’t fix the fundamental problem with the machine: it’s not engaging. When I press on the foot pedal, the mechanism inside the machine runs but the needle doesn’t go. Geez. It’s like he didn’t even try to run it after he “fixed” the foot pedal, which I thought was the original problem with the machine. So I’m out a machine, it might not get fixed this week, and I’m moving on Monday. And I was going to start my muslin for the Coat Sew-Along this week.

Well, at least now this gives me time to pack…

It’s 90 degrees out, and I’m sewing with wool.

Or at least I was until my machine started acting up. Very jerky when you first step on the foot pedal, and jerky when sewing at slower speeds. It was doing this early this year in March and I took it in to be serviced. $97 and four months later, it’s doing it again. I even tried adjusting the speed underneath the pedal, but to no avail. Sigh.

I’ve been cranking out tops for work lately since it’s crunch time before I move. Please forgive the fact that I won’t be posting as frequently this month since there’s a lot of prep to do and packing. And sewing! I only have about a week and a half left of free time to do three more projects before I have to visit the BF for his birthday and temp for a few days before I move.

And weather permitting, I’ll be shooting two finished garments this week to post on here. Stay tuned!
